Since winning his 17th title at WrestleMania 41, where he defeated Cody Rhodes and turned heel for the first time in his career, John Cena has been on fire.

However, he still hasn’t unleashed his true potential on the mic. Throughout his entire career, Cena has delivered some of the most brutal insults on the mic, and many of them could get him canceled in 2025.

Let’s look at three infamous three-minute insults by John Cena on WWE television that might get him in trouble in 2025:

John Cena quickly ascended from being an unknown to a prominent figure in the company. During his tenure as the Doctor of Thuganomics, he gained recognition for freestyle dissing his opponents.

A three-minute video has surfaced on wrestling social media, showcasing John Cena inappropriately trolling fellow superstars through his freestyle raps. The video features segments with Big Show, Sable, Mr. McMahon, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, and many others.

A fan shared a three-minute clip of Cena’s inappropriate segments on X (formerly Twitter) and remarked, “This is hilarious; the man would definitely be canceled already.”

In 2005, WWE drafted The Last Real Champion to Monday Night Raw, which began his transformation from the “Doctor of Thuganomics” to a more family-friendly, marine-style character.

This evolution eventually led to the “Mr. Never Give Up” persona, which gained massive popularity among WWE’s younger fanbase.

How was John Cena’s iconic WWE gimmick born?

Cena debuted alongside fellow superstars from OVW, including Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, and Dave Batista.

He started with his old pro wrestling gimmick, “The Prototype,” which was not well-received by fans.

The issue with Cena’s character at that time was that WWE fans were not reacting to him positively or negatively.

At one point, WWE chairman Vince McMahon considered releasing Cena from the company.

John Cena got his first breakout gimmick when Vince McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, saw him doing freestyle rap on the bus with a fellow WWE superstar.

Cena’s rap talent caught Stephanie’s attention, and she approached WWE management and Cena to alter his character. The rest is history; Cena got his new character, the “Doctor of Thuganomics.”
