Alex Pereira has earned a reputation as an elite fighter, renowned for his exceptional knockout power and technical prowess in both kickboxing and mixed martial arts (MMA). He secured championship titles in GLORY Kickboxing’s middleweight and light heavyweight divisions.
In his latest fight at UFC 313 on March 8, 2025, Pereira took on Magomed Ankalaev in a high-stakes matchup. However, he suffered a unanimous decision loss, bringing his tenure as the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion to an end.
Is Alex Pereira Dating Nina Drama?
Speculation about Alex Pereira dating Nina-Marie Daniele, widely known as “Nina Drama,” has emerged due to their frequent collaborations on social media.
As a prominent MMA content creator, Nina regularly shares humorous and engaging videos featuring UFC fighters, including Pereira. Their interactions, from sparring sessions to dance videos, have led to rumors of a possible romantic connection.
However, these rumors have been disproven. Pereira and Nina Drama maintain a professional relationship and are simply close friends.
Nina has been in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend, Jhanelle Castillo, for over a decade. Castillo also assists in filming her content, further confirming that her dynamic with Pereira remains strictly platonic.
The “Nina Drama Curse” Controversy
After Pereira lost at UFC 313, some fans and fighters speculated about a so-called “Nina Drama curse,” claiming her collaborations with fighters might bring bad luck or distraction.
However, Daniele rejected these claims, noting that she had also worked with Magomed Ankalaev before the fight. Despite the rumors, her partnership with Pereira remains popular among fans for its entertaining and lighthearted take on MMA content.
Pereira’s Plans for a Rematch
Pereira is determined to reclaim his light heavyweight title from Ankalaev and is pushing for an immediate rematch.
He made it clear that he won’t accept any other fight, emphasizing his desire to face Ankalaev again. After reviewing the fight, he personally scored it 48-47 in his favor and believes he did enough to win.
He also admitted to contemplating a withdrawal before the fight due to various challenges, including rumored injuries and health concerns. However, he refuses to use those setbacks as excuses for his performance.
UFC CEO Dana White has expressed interest in arranging the rematch, and Ankalaev himself acknowledged that Pereira is the most deserving challenger. Pereira has proposed August as the ideal timeframe and is prepared to sign the contract as soon as it’s offered.
